Eyal Weizman
Eyal Weizman, founder of Forensic Architecture at Goldsmiths College, University of London, presented his project and a number of his achievements at a Crash conference held on July 2, 2015. The event was organized and moderated by Michaël Neuman.
At the juncture of cartography and image analysis, judicial expertise and architecture, in places and situations of State violence, "Forensic Architecture" sheds light on the notions of crime by turning "spaces" into evidence.
Eyal Weizman has focused his work, in particular, on the Palestinian Territories and the Israeli occupation. He has analysed the architecture of the colonisation through the prism of surveillance technology, reflected on the convergence of political, military and humanitarian interests, and worked on reconstructing aerial attacks through examining images of rubble. Although not a new subject, this new angle provides totally new reflection on these complex issues.

Round Table - 50 years of Doctors without borders (Médecins sans frontières)

Asylum and exile. A history of the distinction between migrants / refugees
04/12/2021 - 06:30 PM 08:30 PMOn April 12 2021, we were delighted to welcome Karen Akoka, political scientist and sociologist, fresh from her publication in November of “Asylum and Exile. A History of the Refugee/Migrant Distinction" (La Découverte, 2020). The author described and analyzed the trajectory of OFPRA, the French institution founded in 1952 and responsible for granting refugee status; she provided an insight into how the history of the distinction between migrants and refugees was established in France. This conference was prepared and moderated by Michaël Neuman.
